Make sure you have administrator rights on your workstation.
Run Serna installer, and follow the instructions.
When you launch Serna for the first time, you need to provide the license certificate that you have been given for that version.
With the button select the license certificate or enter the path manually.
If you do not want Serna to copy the license certificate to the Serna configuration directory, then Serna will search for it in the path you provide.
Once the license certificate is accepted, Serna is ready to run.
Serna configuration directory is specific for the current user and located at C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_LOGIN\.serna- <VERSION>.
If you already used a previous version of Serna, it is recommended to reset your configuration. Start Serna, choose tab, and click the button.

In Finder double-click the Serna package.
Click serna- <VERSION>- <YYYYMMDD>.dmg in the Finder side bar.
Double-click serna- <VERSION>- <YYYYMMDD>.pkg and follow the installation instructions.

Log in as: root
To install the Serna package, type: rpm -i serna- <VERSION>- <YYYYMMDD>.rpm, where serna- <VERSION>- <YYYYMMDD>.rpm is the Serna RPM distribution.
Because of a bug in RPM version 4.1.X (included with the RedHat 8.0 distribution), you will need the following workaround if you are using that software.
Before executing the above command, type (for bash):
export RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local
or for tcsh:
setenv RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX /usr/local
