Basic operations are regular operations common to working with any document. Knowing how to perform basic operations in Serna makes authoring very easy and productive.
There are convenient ways to navigate document content, tables and redlining in Serna by using mouse clicks, arrow keys, hot keys and command menus.
You can select elements, content of elements or any document portions in the Editing Window or in the ContentMap.
Copy/cut/paste actually operates on XML content, but you can also copy/paste content as text without XML tags if needed. Copy/cut/paste editing is available in the ContentMap, in the Editing Window, and between them.
You can move an element, its content or any document portion to another location. Drag&drop editing is available in the ContentMap, in the Editing Window, and between them.
Serna lets you quickly find or find&replace any text that occurs either in the content of a document or a comment, or in the name of an attribute or its value. You can also search for elements that satisfy specific conditions.
When you work with a document, it is possible to undo last several operations and then redo them if needed.
You can check your document for spelling errors. If a misspelling is found, Serna will show it and suggest correct variants.
