Suppose you have customized and tailored the Serna view to your needs. You might have changed the GUI layout, command names, hot keys, plugin settings, etc. However, if you want the customizations to be permanent, you must save them.
In this chapter you will learn how to make the customized Serna view settings persistent so that they will work with any document opened with a particular template or will work as the no-template view. Moreover, the saved customized view can easily be shared by all the installations of Serna in the enterprise (see Sharing Customizations).
Here is a quick-start example of saving GUI customization:
See example Making the Changed Hot Key Persistent.
To learn more about the views, see Serna View Customization and View Activation Priority.
For instructions on how to handle views, see How to Save View, How to Restore View, How to Delete View Saved for Template and How to Delete View Saved as No-Template.
To learn more about Enterprise Configuration Settings, see Sharing Customizations.
To learn more about GUI layout customization, see Serna GUI Layout Customization.
Suppose you have changed the hot key for the command to Ctrl L and would like to make it permanent for the current template (let's suppose it is the Default Template).
Choose ->.
In the Save View Message Box, click Save. Now the Ctrl-L hot key will call the New Document Dialog from any document opened with the Default Template.
This example illustrates how to make the customized hot key persistent. To learn how the hot key was customized, see Changing a Hot Key.
