Wrapping in Element

We can insert an element and then create its content as well as first create some content and then wrap the content in an element.

To wrap some content in an element, take the following steps:

Select the content to wrap.
Select the content to wrap in the Editing Window or in the ContentMap.
Call up the Wrap Into Element Dialog:
To call up the Wrap Into Element Dialog (or move the focus to the docked Wrap Into Element Dialog), do one of the following:
- Press Ctrl-T or Ctrl-Enter .
- Choose Element > Tag Region or Element > Insert Element .
- Click the Insert Element button on the toolbar.
- Right-click and select Tag Region from the context menu.
The Wrap Into Element Dialog will appear.

Note:
The Wrap Into Element Dialog is a " liquid dialog": it can have a different, docked appearance. For more information about liquid dialogs, see "Liquid" Dialog Boxes and Dialog Docking.

Note:
When you make a selection, the docked Insert Element Dialog is replaced with the Wrap Into Element Dialog.

Note:
The dialog shows an alphabetically sorted list of elements available for the current context if validation is on. The 5 most recently used elements are shown in bold at the top of the list.
Wrap the selection in the element.
In the Wrap Into Element Dialog, do one of the following:
- Find the element and double-click it.
  
  Note:
  If you know exactly which element you need, you can start typing its name and it will be offered automatically.
  
  Note:
  You can call up help for an element.
- Select the element and click the Wrap button or the Insert Element button .
- Select the element and press Enter.
- Press Alt-number to pick a corresponding recently used element shown in bold.
The selected content will be wrapped in this element and the dialog will be closed automatically.
Note:
If you prefer to keep your dialog on top while you edit, uncheck the Close on insert checkbox.

Example. Wrapping a word in the emphasis element.

Let's wrap the word "Apple" in the emphasis element:

Select the word "Apple".
Press Ctrl-T to call up the Wrap Into Element Dialog.
Choose the emphasis element from the list.

The word "Apple" will become emphasized (italic).
